This workshop will review the pain and opioid use epidemic and discuss possible solutions from the medical and behavioral providers’ perspective. This will be an open panel discussion that starts a dialogue between physicians and behavioral health providers about problems faced by all parties in the pain management arena both in the public and private practice sectors. Providers will learn about non-opioid pharmacological and non-opioid non-pharmacological interventions as well as how to manage chronic pain patients. The learner will also gain a foundational level of knowledge of how behavioral health plays a role in medical assessment and treatment.
